Vintage Scholer Concertina Accordion from USSR Occupied Germany in Silver Grey
This is a really unique collectors item from Soviet Occupied Germany. The accordion is probably over 60 years old, considering Germany was occupied from 1945-1949. It's crafted from a shiny, marble-like plastic with a silver tone and has paper bellows, leather straps, and plastic buttons with wood bases. There are 21 buttons in total (10 on each side plus a thumb valve key on the right) which play two notes each (one when you draw and another when you press the accordion). There is also a metal Scholer emblem on the righthand keyboard and a serial number.
This accordion was recently cleaned and has some expected wear. The plastic and bellows are in great condition, with no chips or tears. The leather strap on the lefthand side is torn, and two of the plastic button pieces are missing.
Notes still play and sound alright. The lower C and G on the lefthand keyboard are very wheezy and almost inaudible. All other keys sound okay! There are, however, times when the instrument is finicky and some notes go in and out. But for its age and origin, it's in a pretty nice shape overall!
