Quite rare antique cameo with seldom seen depiction of Euterpe, muse of music.
She was one of seven muses in service to the god Apollo. She’s beautifully rendered
here, with a gently lowered head, deep, detailed facial features and a complex
hairstyle, including the laurel leaf crown associated with muses and Apollo.
Stringed lyre visible over her shoulder. Stunning and uncommon
representation, in colors of tea and cream. Generously sized
and bezel set in 900 silver mount. Let the music play on!
