Lovely Silver Filigree Sardonyx Shell Cameo Necklace
Only the finest rarest cameos were carved from sardonyx shell. This is because sardonyx shell grows at a very slow rate so a limited amount were produced every year. Also, it provides a better contrast due to its white mid layer and dark brown interior.
Details
The large cameo is stamped on a cartouche on the back with 800. This is 800 fine Italian silver work.
Fine filigree scroll work throughout the entire piece.
24" long with an added 1 1/2" with the large pendant.
Untouched, natural patina.
