Antique North African Tuareg Takoba (Takuba/Takouba) short sword. Pattern is indicative of carry blades of these Saharan Islamic tribesmen. Estimated date of manufacture based on style, manufacturing techniques and aging is 1865-1915. Selling for 93 years young lady we have helped move to assisted living. She states was part of her husband's extensive ethnic weapons collection assembled in the 1950's and 60's and displayed in his Tucson AZ store. Showing considerable patina to sword and fraying of leather scabbard. 25" total length with fullered iron blade.
